Architectural Style

I can help with the puzzlement over the architectural style of 609 Adams. The house was a Victorian one-story built by my great-grandparents Anna Barclay and William Powers Newman. He died in 1911, she in 1931. Her granddaughter my aunt Margaret Newman Hutchens and my uncle Willard Hutchens took it over and renovated it,but it partially burned in 1932. They then changed the style from Victorian to Georgian and added the second floor. The north half of the original house -- formal parlor, dining room, butler's pantry, kitchen -- is today as I remember them in my great-grandmother's time. (I was 11 when she died.) My sister Margaret Hutchens Henson owns the house and lives there today. (Contributed by Eleanor Hutchins)
