The Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) documents engineering facilities of historical significance, including several at Marshall Space Flight Center. This documentation includes photographs, drawings and written descriptions that are now housed at the Library of Congress.
Five of these facilities are listed as National Historic Landmarks. These facilities include:
- Neutral Buoyancy Simulator Facility
- Saturn Propulsion and Structural Test Facility
- Redstone Rocket Test Stand
- Saturn V Dynamic Test Stand
- Saturn V Launch Vehicle
A Sister program, the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) was a project started in 1933 to document significant buildings in America. Several Huntsville buildings were included in this survery in the 1930s, including the Church of the Nativity, the only other Huntsville buildling listed on as a National Historic Landmark.
